Appendix 1--Member Status
Members of Lake Monticello Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Inc. (LMVFD&RS) Auxiliary are designated as either Active, Inactive, Life, or Associate members.
1. Active Members
To be designated as an Active member of the Auxiliary an individual should comply with the following requirements:
- Attend at least 50% of regular Auxiliary meetings. There are normally ten such meeting per year so an Active member will attend at least 5 of those meetings; and
- An Active member will participate in one or more of the regular Auxiliary fundraising and other activities such as:
- Bingo (normally held weekly)
- Annual golf tournament
- Special activities (dinners, 911 Memorial, fund drive mailings, baking for various Corporation events, etc.).
- Additional ad hoc fundraising and other activities
- Recruitment and retention functions
- Assist with various other Auxiliary financial activities
- Serve as an Auxiliary officer
Records will be maintained regarding each Active member’s participation in activities outlined in items 1 and 2 above.
2. Inactive Members
- An individual is considered to be an Inactive member when not conforming to the requirements in items 1 and 2 above. After 2 years in this status, consideration will be given to withdrawing that person from Auxiliary membership, with due consideration of illness and other pertinent situations on a case-by-case basis.
- Those designated as Inactive members will receive information as to their status and will be provided with the requirements on how to become an active Auxiliary member.
3. Life Members
An individual who has served10 years as an Active Member is eligible to be nominated for Life Member status at a regularly-scheduled Auxiliary meeting. A majority vote by those present will result in the request to be forwarded to the LMVFD&RS Board of Directors for approval.
4. Associate Members
An individual is considered to be an Associate member wishing to support the LMVFD&RS Auxiliary, but not as an Active member. This person volunteers to work specific fundraising activities such as bingo, the golf tournament, or other events. Associate members are not expected to attend Auxiliary meetings or perform committee tasks. Benefits of Active membership are not available to an Associate member.
